You can download the Metadata Editor for your preferred operating system.

Installation

Using the AppImage format is recommended for its simplicity and convenience. It requires no installation. Just follow these steps to grant execute permissions and run the application:

  • grant execute permissions to the AppImage file:
    chmod +x metadata-editor_v<x.y.z>_linux.AppImage
    
  • run the application
    ./metadata-editor_v<x.y.z>_linux.AppImage
    

To install the application, download and run the .exe file. Note that Microsoft Edge may display an error and block the download because the app is not certified by Microsoft. To proceed with the download:

  • Click on the options button.
  • Select the Keep option to continue with the download.

Once the download is complete, run the .exe file to install the application.

To install the application on macOS, download the .dmg file and follow the standard installation procedure. Note that you may encounter an error indicating the app is from an unidentified developer.

To resolve this:

  • open Settings
  • navigate to Privacy & Security
  • locate the MetadataEditor application
  • click on Open Anyway to allow the application to run

arm64 users

If the .dmg file for arm64 is not working, try using the x64 version, which should also be compatible with arm64 architecture.
